Sometimes even when you do everything right, work hard, struggle to provide ..... it isn't enough. You are not alone.

For thousands of people throughout Western Washington, what may look like a small setback to some can be a crisis. Sometimes just one unexpected bill is enough to take a family from getting by to not being able to pay the rent. Those lucky enough to have built up some savings can quickly see it wiped out by a job loss or a reduction in hours. An illness or disability can destroy a family's savings even more quickly. Soon the daily decision is between paying the bills and buying food.

All too often families and individuals who are looking for help are not finding the help that they need. You still have a few dollars in savings, or you make a little bit too much money, to qualify for help. Even if you find someone to help, that help may not be enough. That's where we come in.

In our first year of operation, Sharing Security helped keep the lights on, the rent paid, the car running, gas in the tank and food in the cupboard for over a hundred Western Washington individuals and families with nowhere else to turn. If you have been turned down for assistance somewhere else - turn to us.
